About
Rave-offshore is a renewable energy company headquartered in Bremerhaven, Germany specializing in Wind.
RAVE (Research at Alpha Ventus) is a long-term research initiative established in 2006 to advance offshore wind energy in Germany. Coordinated by the Fraunhofer Institute for Wind Energy Systems and operated by the Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency, RAVE conducts research and development at Germany's first offshore wind farm, Alpha Ventus, located 60 km off the coast in 30 m water depth. The initiative encompasses over 35 research projects with more than 60 partners from universities, research institutions, and industry. Key research areas include power curve verification, offshore wind modeling, turbine design optimization, load monitoring systems, and environmental impact assessment. The project has generated over 50 TB of measurement data from more than 1200 monitoring channels, making it a unique global resource for offshore wind energy research. Research focuses on improving the economic viability, safety, and operational reliability of offshore wind energy systems.
