Founded in 2019, Renaissance is a ngo headquartered in Brussels, Belgium specializing in Solar, Wind, Energy Storage.
Renaissance is a research and innovation project funded by the European Union's Horizon 2020 programme (grant agreement No 824342). The project delivers a comprehensive, community-driven, scalable and replicable approach to implement new business models and technologies supporting clean production and shared distribution of energy in local communities. Key deliverables include the ReEnergise tool for optimal local energy system configuration, the RENAISSANCE platform for energy management, benchmarking models to improve uptake of integrated energy grids, and assessment of business cases across multiple demonstrator sites in Europe and globally. The project works with seven pilot sites across Europe and has expanded testing to sites in Argentina and Chile.
