About
Founded in 2023, ReUse is a ngo headquartered in Germany specializing in Energy Storage.
ReUse is a Horizon Europe Partnership research initiative co-funded by the European Union and the Swiss State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation. The project develops innovative, sustainable, and energy-efficient direct recycling processes for end-of-life (EoL) LFP-based lithium-ion batteries and their production waste. The consortium of 13 partners from Germany, Belgium, Norway, Czechia, France, Denmark, Switzerland, and Serbia focuses on scalable solutions with high recovery efficiency and purity. Key technologies include AI-driven sorting, automated cell disassembly, microwave-assisted hydrothermal processing, and electrochemical regeneration of cathode materials. The project aims to recover pure materials like lithium salts, cathode/anode materials, and binders while minimizing environmental impact and supporting compliance with the EU's new Batteries Regulation.
