Rosenheimer Solarförderverein e.V. is a non-profit association dedicated to advancing renewable energy adoption in the Rosenheim region and Bavaria. Since 1993, the organization has worked toward a decentralized, regenerative energy system with regional actors playing central roles. The association operates the Marienberg solar plant, a 4 kW installation established in 1999 on a former school building, which generates revenue supporting the organization's activities. Over 170 members make it one of Bavaria's largest solar associations. The organization's work emphasizes citizen participation, regional energy self-sufficiency, and transition away from nuclear and fossil fuels toward 100% renewable energy in electricity, heating, and transportation. The association organizes educational events, workshops, and the annual Rosenheimer Energiedialoge forum on topics including solar energy, wind power, heat pumps, small hydropower, and electric mobility.
