About
Founded in 2020, SAFELiMOVE is a ngo headquartered in Spain specializing in Energy Storage.
SAFELiMOVE is a 48-month European research project funded under Horizon 2020 (Grant Agreement no. 875189) with a total budget of 7.8M EUR. The project involves 15 partners and one linked third party from 6 EU countries, coordinated by CIC energiGUNE. The initiative addresses transport's contribution to EU greenhouse gas emissions by advancing solid-state battery technology for battery electric vehicles (BEVs) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs). SAFELiMOVE develops breakthrough innovations across five technology areas: nickel-rich layered oxide cathode materials, high-capacity Li-metal anode materials, advanced hybrid ceramic-polymer electrolytes, interface optimization, and manufacturing scale-up knowledge. Target specifications include energy density of 450 Wh/kg, improved charging speed, and extended cycle life. The consortium spans industrial materials producers, R&D centers, and automotive manufacturers.
