About
Founded in 2017, Simulwind is a private headquartered in Husum, Germany specializing in Wind.
Simulwind is a wind turbine maintenance simulator developed as part of an EU-funded Erasmus+ project launched in December 2017 and completed in December 2019. The tool simulates main faults, maintenance procedures, and operational scenarios in wind turbines and farms. It features a functional design allowing administrators to add new turbine models and maintenance procedures. The simulator includes interactive elements such as tool selection, materials, Personal Protective Equipment guidance, procedural videos, and technical documentation. Version 2.0 was released in June 2022 as part of the WindEXT Erasmus project. The tool is designed for stakeholders at different levels: administrators, instructors, and technicians, enabling them to practice real-life situations before working onsite, particularly valuable for offshore wind training. The intellectual output is available under Creative Commons CC BY-SA license.
