About
Founded in 2013, Solaireflottant-lestoules is a renewable energy company headquartered in Bourg-St-Pierre, Switzerland specializing in Solar.
Solaireflottant-lestoules is a pioneering floating solar park project developed by Romande Energie on Lake Toules in Bourg-St-Pierre, Switzerland. The installation comprises a demonstration phase (operational since December 2019) and plans for a large-scale multi-phase expansion. The project operates at 1,810 meters altitude where alpine conditions provide approximately 50% higher energy yield compared to equivalent installations in lowland areas due to snow reflection, lower temperatures, and thinner atmospheric layers. The patented floating structure adapts to wind and water level fluctuations. The demonstration park features one vertical panel and 24 panels arranged in three rows. The full-scale project is envisioned as an integrated multi-energy production site alongside the existing Toules dam hydroelectric facility. Won the 2021 Watt d'Or award in the Renewable Energy category.
