The organization runs multi-day educational camps combining theoretical instruction with practical hands-on training in PV module installation. Participants acquire skills to become PV assistant technicians and are connected to employment opportunities with solar companies. The network operates on a volunteer basis, organized democratically with central coordination (Bundesorga) and local teams across Germany. Beyond technical training, camps include workshops on social-ecological transformation topics. The initiative addresses critical labor shortages in Germany's energy transition, particularly targeting students, graduates, career-changers, and underrepresented groups in green trades. Solarcamp makes Schule extends offerings into schools, combining practical PV training with classroom instruction.
