Solarcamp München is a locally-organized chapter of Solarcamp for Future, a nationwide network dedicated to vocational training in renewable energy. The organization runs residential camp programs combining PV installation training, climate education, and social integration. Participants learn DC-side PV assembly (non-licensed work) through theory sessions and hands-on practice on demonstration roofs. The program targets underrepresented groups including job seekers, refugees, and individuals with disabilities. An optional second week offers day-long internships with local solar installation firms, facilitating job placement. The initiative received the German Solar Prize (Deutscher Solarpreis) in 2025. Activities include skill development workshops, guest lectures from solar professionals, climate literacy education using the Klima-Puzzle framework, and recreational programming.
