About
Sun-to-Liquid-2 is a ngo headquartered in Germany specializing in Solar, Hydrogen.
SUN-to-LIQUID II is an EU-funded collaborative research project coordinated by Bauhaus Luftfahrt, comprising 6 partners from 5 European countries. The project develops integrated solar thermochemical pathways for sustainable hydrocarbon fuel production directly from sunlight, water, and CO2. Primary objectives include increasing solar reactor energy efficiency to over 15% through improved radiative absorption and heat management using 3D-printed redox materials, and demonstrating record-high efficiency in solar fuel production at TRL 4-5. The technology targets transportation decarbonization, particularly aviation, aiming to achieve greenhouse gas emission reductions exceeding 80% and supporting the European Green Deal's 90% emissions reduction target by 2050.
