About
Founded in 2025, Sweethy is a ngo headquartered in Borås, Sweden specializing in Hydrogen.
Sweethy is a collaborative research initiative supported by the Clean Hydrogen Partnership and co-funded by the European Union under Grant Agreement 101192342. The project began in March 2025 and runs for 48 months. It brings together industry and research institutions to develop an advanced alkaline exchange membrane water electrolyzer (AEMWE) system specifically designed for seawater electrolysis. The project addresses three key perspectives: material development for corrosion resistance in saline conditions, sustainability and economic analysis, and electrolyzer configuration. The final prototype will be a modular, scalable stack designed to deliver 20 g/h of pure hydrogen at 20 bar pressure, with 2000 hours of operation under dynamic renewable energy conditions. The project includes comprehensive sustainability analysis covering lifecycle assessment, techno-economic analysis, and socio-economic impacts, with focus on circular economy principles and integration with local industries.
