About
TransUrban.NRW is a renewable energy company headquartered in Essen, Germany specializing in Geothermal, Energy Storage, Other.
TransUrban.NRW is a model project funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) under the "Real-world Laboratories of the Energy Transition" program. It focuses on transforming networked urban heat and cold supply systems using intersectoral Power-2-Heat solutions. The project operates in four quarters (Seestadt Mönchengladbach, Glückaufpark Hassel, Shamrockpark, and Düssel-Terrassen) in North Rhine-Westphalia. Fifth-generation low-temperature networks operate at 10-40°C instead of conventional 100°C+ systems, reducing energy losses and enabling integration of renewable sources like geothermal energy and waste heat recovery. The consortium comprises 12 companies and associated partners from real estate, research, and energy sectors, led by E.ON Energy Solutions GmbH. The project combines heat, cold, and electricity supply into integrated systems using dynamic tariffs, digital twins, and heat pump technology.
