Vasco da Gama CoLAB is Portugal's first collaborative association merging key energy storage players from academia, corporate sector, and start-ups. Supported by Portuguese agencies for science and technology innovation (FCT and ANI), it operates as a non-profit private association positioned across the electrochemical energy storage value chain. The laboratory specializes in lithium-ion, sodium-ion, and redox flow battery technologies; battery materials synthesis and processing; power electronics and DC-DC/AC converters; battery thermal management and BMS integration; lifecycle assessment and performance evaluation; and grid-scale energy storage system deployment. Services include feasibility studies, technical benchmarking, and energy storage strategy consulting.
