Veja Mate Offshore Wind Farm is a 402 MW offshore wind power plant located in the German Exclusive Economic Zone in the North Sea. The project comprises 67 Siemens SWT-6.0-154 wind turbines, each with a capacity of 6 MW and a rotor diameter of 154 meters. The facility was completed in less than 14 months after Financial Close (July 2015) and commenced operations in 2017. It is designed to produce sufficient renewable energy annually for approximately 450,000 German households. Over its operational lifetime, the project will avoid over 18 million tonnes of CO2 emissions. The facility received the award for Best Offshore Wind Power Plant in Operation in 2020 and 2021. In 2019, a consortium including Commerz Real, Ingka Group, KGAL, and ALH Group acquired 80% of the project, followed by acquisition of the remaining 20% shares from Siemens Project Ventures.
