Vensol develops wind and solar parks with an emphasis on community involvement and regional economic development. The company was born from a 2001 initiative on Wilhelmsburg in Ulm, where a 120 kWp photovoltaic installation with 25 citizen participants was realized. A second early project involved the first two wind turbines near Magdeburg. The company was formally founded in 2009 as an independent project developer following years of consulting on renewable projects. Vensol's approach combines technical expertise with civic engagement, emphasizing transparent communication and local participation. Recent expansion includes battery storage projects since 2025. The company manages the full project lifecycle from planning and citizen consultation through construction to long-term operation and maintenance.
