The cooperative was created to enable local community participation in renewable energy projects, particularly wind farms developing in the Arlon and Messancy regions. In addition to operating renewable energy installations, Vents du Sud prospectively develops new renewable energy projects annually. The cooperative is also involved in RénoSud Energie, a citizen-oriented energy renovation support program offering diagnostic and financial analysis for residential energy efficiency improvements, funded by the Walloon Region and partner municipalities.
