About
Founded in 2020, VIVALDI-H2020 is a ngo headquartered in Bellaterra, Spain specializing in Hydrogen, Other.
VIVALDI is a European research consortium project funded under Horizon 2020 (grant agreement No 101000441) that develops innovative biotechnological solutions to convert off-gas emissions from bio-based industries into CO₂-based chemicals. The project integrates electrochemical and biological catalysis to transform industrial CO₂ emissions into added-value organic acids including lactic acid, succinic acid, itaconic acid, and 3-hydroxypropionic acid. Key objectives include developing yeast-based fermentation processes using Pichia Pastoris, converting CO₂ to methanol and formic acid at biocompatible conditions, recovering nutrients from industrial wastewater through bioelectrochemical processes, and demonstrating technical and economic feasibility for integration into existing bio-based industries. The project aims to convert biorefineries into plants with negative GHG emissions and establish a competitive CO₂-based industrial sector.
