About

Founded in 2019, Watereye is a ngo headquartered in San Sebastián, Spain specializing in Wind.

Watereye was a three-year research project (2019-2022) led by CEIT, a consortium of research groups and companies. The project developed an integral solution enabling wind farm operators to accurately predict maintenance needs and reduce structural failures in offshore wind installations. The core innovation is a high-accuracy, real-time, unattended ultrasonic corrosion monitoring system designed to reduce the number of tower inspections, operational downtime, and overall O&M costs while increasing annual energy production. The project culminated with a Final Review Meeting in Brussels in November 2022.
