Windpark Schnürbuck is a wind energy repowering project located on a ridge between Ettenheim and Schuttertal in southern Ortenau. Developed by three project partners—Ettenheimer Bürgerenergie eG, Enercon, and Ökostrom—the project replaces five older wind turbines with three modern, more efficient installations. The first turbine entered commissioning phase in late 2025, with full operation expected by winter 2025/2026. Upon completion, the new park is projected to generate approximately four times more electricity than the previous installations, producing power for roughly 10,000 households annually. The project includes provisions for local residents to participate financially in the cooperative structure, ensuring community engagement and benefit-sharing.
