Founded in 2022, BeephoniX is a defense subsystem manufacturer based in Utrecht, Netherlands working in counter-uas & air defense, radar & sensors.
BeephoniX is a young Dutch technology company spun off from Radboud University's Biophysics Department in 2022. It develops hardware and software for acoustics, speech and hearing, based on patented dynamic microphone technology and beamforming research. Alongside hearing-related development, it works with defense and maritime partners on acoustic drone detection. Its M2 system is a passive acoustic counter-UAS sensor intended to detect hostile drones protecting sensitive sites, including government buildings, military outposts and critical infrastructure. The company is currently running a pilot program with defense and homeland security stakeholders.

Acoustic drone detection system
Bio-inspired, AI-enhanced passive acoustic detection system using 151 MEMS microphones per unit for 3D sound analysis, detection, tracking and classification of Class I and II drones, with an optional integrated optical camera module. Detection range up to 500 meters, battery, solar or external power options, person-portable or mast-mountable.
