Meteksan Defence is a Turkish defence company established in 2006 to bring together the defence and high-technology projects of the Bilkent Holding group under one organisation. It develops and produces high-tech products and subsystems for the Turkish Armed Forces and other security forces. Its operations cover six fields: radar systems, perimeter surveillance systems, laser and electro-optic systems, communication systems, underwater acoustic systems and platform simulators. Its perimeter surveillance radars, including the Retinar family, are used for border and critical infrastructure security, and its underwater acoustic systems include hull mounted sonars, hydrophones and submarine sonars. Its platform simulators provide damage control, firefighting and helicopter escape training for naval forces. The company is also active in UAV communication, GNSS anti-jamming and electronic warfare systems, and has developed the ULAQ armed unmanned surface vehicle. It has exported systems to allied countries and is affiliated with Bilkent University.
