TÜBİTAK BİLGEM is a national R&D center under TÜBİTAK and the Ministry of Industry and Technology of the Republic of Turkey. It produces solutions in informatics, information security and advanced electronics for public and private sector needs. Its work includes naval defense and underwater acoustics, electronic warfare spectrum management, electronic support technologies, electro-optics and laser, GIS and avionics, sensor technologies, and secure communication. It develops electronic systems, prototypes, hardware and software through institutes such as İLTAREN, and states that its technologies are used by several countries together with NATO. Founded in 2010 through the merger of the National Research Institute of Electronics and Cryptology and the Information Technologies Institute, it operates campuses in Gebze (Kocaeli) and Ankara, with the Center Presidency in Gebze.
