About
Founded in 2012, ABCDE Africa is a non-governmental organisation based in Accra, Ghana working on education, employment & skills.
ABCDE (African Business Center for Developing Education) is a Pan-African non-governmental organisation founded in 2012 by former Ghanaian Minister of Education Dr Ekwow Spio-Garbrah. It works to improve youth employability across Africa by mobilising the business community to deliver mentorship, coaching, internships and scholarships to students in schools and tertiary institutions. Its mentors are industrial leaders, entrepreneurs and professionals who volunteer to teach work-readiness skills such as communication, numeracy, ICT, teamwork and leadership. ABCDE also runs a STEM scholarship fund for needy Ghanaian students and plans to support around 5,000 school ICT centres. The organisation is headquartered in Accra, Ghana, and says it operates initially in Ghana, South Africa, Tanzania and Nigeria, with a 2030 goal of reaching at least one million students in at least 10,000 schools.
