Atlanto sutarties Lietuvos bendrija (LATA) is a voluntary association of Lithuanian citizens founded in 1996. It aims to educate the public about NATO's goals and activities, to build civic education and democratic values, and to promote Lithuania's security and integration into Euro-Atlantic structures. LATA organises conferences, discussions, seminars and non-commercial publications, and it runs youth activities through its Youth Council (LATAYC), which was established in 2005. The association has local branches in Vilnius, Kaunas, Klaipėda, Šiauliai, Panevėžys, Alytus and Tauragė. It has submitted recommendations to the Lithuanian Seimas and Government on legal regulation, and it carries out development cooperation and civil society initiatives in Ukraine, Georgia, Kaliningrad and other countries, including a development project in Afghanistan and NATO information centres in Georgia. LATA is a member of the Atlantic Treaty Association.
