BAZES

Founded in 1999, BAZES is a charity based in Groningen, Netherlands working on poverty & hunger, community development.

BAZES (Benefiet Actie Zeven Erkende Studentenverenigingen) is a Groningen foundation run by student associations. It raises money through events such as a pub quiz, a pub crawl, and an auction, and each year donates the proceeds to a chosen good cause. Current and past beneficiaries include Stichting Ik Trakteer, which supports people below the poverty line in Groningen, and Weggeefwinkel Vinkhuizen. The foundation holds ANBI status, publishes its financial accounts, and its board members serve as volunteers without remuneration. Donors can give one-off, monthly or yearly amounts, and businesses can become sponsors or friends of BAZES in exchange for promotion.
