Stichting Carelanka is a Dutch foundation recognised as an ANBI (public-benefit organisation) that supports people with intellectual disabilities and vulnerable children and adults in Sri Lanka. It works only in Sri Lanka and only on requests submitted by local organisations, providing knowledge transfer and financial support with the aim of making projects independent. Its main partner is the local Metta Society, which runs the Metta Workshop, Daycare Center and Community Support programme in the south-west of the country. Carelanka is run by an unpaid board and funded by donations from individuals and companies in the Netherlands, with 100% of donations going to projects in Sri Lanka.
