Bērnu paliatīvās aprūpes biedrība (Children's Palliative Care Association) is a Latvian association founded in 1998 that works to ensure access to and development of children's palliative care in Latvia. It provides psychosocial, medical and spiritual support to families of children with progressive chronic illnesses or illnesses for which radical treatment has been exhausted, and to families after a child's death. Services include home-based palliative care delivered by social workers and chaplains under a state-delegated mandate, peer support groups, sibling groups, and a training and information programme for professionals and families. The association also contributes to policy and standards development, publishes educational brochures and films, and runs the Sapņu tilti hospice project and the Duka project. It operates mainly in Riga and across Latvia, and holds public-benefit status that allows donors to claim tax relief.
