Fonds Adrien Bauchau

Founded in 1989, Fonds Adrien Bauchau is a grant-making foundation based in Namur, Belgium working on science & research, education, international development.

The Fonds Adrien Bauchau is a Belgian non-profit association (asbl) founded in 1989 in Namur in memory of Jesuit biologist Adrien Bauchau. It promotes excellence in training and research in the life sciences. Its main base is the University of Namur, where it awards prizes, grants and a rotating research chair and created the Espace Bauchau for students. Since 2005 it has also supported training and development projects in disadvantaged countries, mainly in Africa, including the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Cameroon. Membership is free and open to former laureates and supporters. The organisation is funded by the Bauchau family, anonymous patrons, and donations from members and former University of Namur students.
