Gradsko društvo Crvenog križa Zagreb (GDCK Zagreb) is the Zagreb city branch of the Croatian Red Cross, a non-profit association active in Zagreb since 1878. It runs social and humanitarian programmes for vulnerable groups, including older people, people with disabilities, people in poverty and homeless people, and provides home help, a social shop and food bank, and a shelter for homeless people. It also delivers health and first aid education in schools, a family tracing service, emergency preparedness and response through trained intervention teams, a youth club, and volunteer and corporate volunteering programmes. The society operates from its seat at Ilica 223 in Zagreb and a holiday and outdoor facility on Sljeme, Medvednica. It is an independent, neutral non-governmental organisation working in line with the seven Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement principles.
