Het Kattenkabinet

Founded in 2017, Het Kattenkabinet is a non-profit association based in Grimbergen, Belgium working on animal welfare.

Het Kattenkabinet is a Belgian non-profit association (vzw) working for the welfare of cats in Grimbergen and surrounding areas. It was founded in 2017 and began as a sterilisation project for stray cats, growing into a broader programme covering stray, abandoned and found cats, including kittens. The organisation works with volunteers and foster families instead of a shelter building. Cats receive veterinary care, sterilisation, microchipping, vaccination and socialisation before being placed for adoption. It also takes in FIV-positive cats and advises the public on stray cats, adoption, sterilisation and cat behaviour. Funding comes from donations, sponsors, online shopping affiliate programmes and fundraising events such as bingo evenings. Its contract municipalities are Machelen and Wemmel.
