Kauno samariečiai is the Kaunas branch of the Lithuanian Samaritan Community, a non-governmental organisation founded in January 1992 and a member of Samaritan International. It provides social assistance and social services to people in poverty, people with disabilities, elderly and lonely people, homeless people, families, children and disaster-affected people in Kaunas and the Kaunas district. Its work includes children's day centres, day care and home help for seniors, patient and disability transport, distribution of food and donated clothing and household goods, social counselling, psychological support, and a community service placement scheme for people referred by the probation service.
