Les États Généraux de l'Eau à Bruxelles (EGEB) is a Brussels civil society association founded in 2010. It works on water, urban flooding and the living environment, experimenting with new ways of doing citizen-led politics starting from the question of water. Its work combines action-research, citizen investigations and co-creation with residents, universities and public institutions, mainly in the Senne and Maelbeek watersheds. Current and past projects include Brusseau, Délier les fils de l'eau, FloodCitiSense, SmartWater, Aquatopia and the European Fairville research project. The association also runs a cartography initiative on solidarity watersheds, takes positions in public consultations and advocates for nature rights and a moratorium on urban sealing in Brussels. Its work is largely project-based and relies on public and European funding.
