The Lithuanian Samaritan Community is a charitable public organisation founded in 1992 with a network of local branches across Lithuania. It works to fight poverty and social exclusion through social services, care and support for children with disabilities, lonely and disabled people, single grandparents and socially disadvantaged families. Its activities include summer camps for children from disadvantaged families, support for children's care homes, day care centres, charity campaigns, home visits, and youth leadership and volunteering programmes. Funding comes from state and municipal budgets, private donations and the income tax transfer scheme under Lithuanian charity law. The organisation is a member of the international Samaritan network SAM.I.
