Local Democracy Agency Sisak is a non-governmental, non-profit organisation based in Sisak, Croatia. It was established in 1996 as a pilot project of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe and has been registered as a national organisation since 2006. The organisation works to support local democratic processes, promote human rights, active citizenship, volunteering and international cooperation. It uses a methodology of multilateral decentralised cooperation in partnership with local and regional self-governments, civil society organisations and other stakeholders. Its work includes running the Volunteer Centre Sisak, developing school volunteering through a regional platform, youth programme development, non-formal education, capacity building for civil society organisations, and social innovation. It also works on housing exclusion, migrant integration, reconciliation and no-hate-speech in the Western Balkans, and sustainable development. Its projects reach Sisak-Moslavina County, Croatia and wider South East Europe, and it is a member of the Association of Local Democracy Agencies (ALDA).
