Otonom is a Tinos-based non-profit organisation in the Cyclades, Greece, founded in 2024 by artists working at the intersections of art, science and technology. It designs and implements place-based projects that link community resilience with the protection of terrestrial, marine and ecosocial ecosystems, addressing challenges faced by small island and rural communities such as water scarcity, waste management, biodiversity loss, food insecurity and the impacts of overtourism. Its main projects are Hotel Paper, which turns discarded hotel textiles into handmade paper; Film Seed Festival, a crop-powered film festival; and Mikrocosmos, a series of soil-focused educational workshops for children, families and adults. Activities include open public workshops, school sessions and exhibitions, largely supported by grants from the Cyclades Preservation Fund, NEON Organisation for Culture and Development, the Moleskin Foundation and the Hellenic Ministry of Culture.
