Palangos gintaras

Founded in 1990, Palangos gintaras is a non-profit organisation based in Palanga, Lithuania working on health, children & youth, disability.

Palangos gintaras is a public institution (VšĮ) operating the largest children's rehabilitation sanatorium in the Baltic states, founded in 1990 and located in Palanga, Lithuania, near the Baltic Sea. It provides inpatient and outpatient medical rehabilitation, including physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, massage, psychological and social support, for children from birth to 18 years, serving children from across Lithuania. Patients are referred under a rehabilitation referral and the institution also runs an on-site school, a children's library and leisure activities. It employs over 200 staff, more than 100 of them health care specialists, and states it treats around 5,000 children a year. The institution is also a partner in a project providing rehabilitation to children from Ukraine.
