About

Founded in 1992, Peace of Christ Community (PCC) – Hand in Hand is a charity based in Nkoranza, Ghana working on disability, children & youth.

Peace of Christ Community (PCC) – Hand in Hand is a residential community in Nkoranza, Ghana, for abandoned children and young adults with intellectual or multiple disabilities from across Ghana. Founded in 1992 by Dutch former tropical doctor Ineke Bosman, it provides care, education, daily occupation and a family-style living environment, with residents living at the community permanently. The community runs a sheltered workshop where young adults weave fabrics and make jewellery and textile products, with proceeds supporting the work. It also operates a summer school, daycare centres and an Outreach programme that visits villages to support children with disabilities and their families. The community is funded by private donations and foundations from the Netherlands, Germany and England, and receives no Ghanaian government subsidies. The Dutch legal entity, Stichting Hand in Hand, holds ANBI status, so donations are tax-deductible in the Netherlands. Volunteers, mainly from Europe, support caregivers with one-to-one care.
