PEFC Latvija

Founded in 2002, PEFC Latvija is a non-profit association based in Koknese, Latvia working on environment & climate, nature & wildlife conservation.

Biedrība PEFC Latvija is the Latvian association that represents the PEFC forest certification system in Latvia as the national representative of the international PEFC organisation. Founded in 2002, it develops and maintains the national PEFC documentation, including the Latvian national PEFC forest management standard, the forestry contractor standard and the chain of custody documentation. It involves stakeholders such as forest owners, industry and certification bodies in standard-setting and consultations. The association also works to promote sustainable forest management and to educate the public about the PEFC certification system and its objectives. It does not carry out certification itself; accredited, independent certification bodies perform audits in Latvia. It operates in Latvia.
