Perusica is a Belgian non-profit association (vzw) based in Edegem that runs a socially engaged youth orchestra. The orchestra has organised donation drives and concert tours to Peru since 2000 and supports projects for children and young people there, including schools, orphanages and local neighbourhoods. Projects are chosen after listening to local needs, and expenses are checked through agreements with Peruvian contact persons. Funding comes from concerts, chrysanthemum sales, donations, and purchases made through the Trooper shopping platform. The orchestra also plays benefit concerts for local schools and care homes in Belgium, and welcomes musicians of all levels as members.
