Plataforma Social Tangarana is a non-profit, volunteer-run organisation in Moyobamba, San Martín, Peru. It was founded in 2015 as Centro Excursionista Tangarana by local residents and became a social platform in 2019. Its main work is a half-scholarship and sponsorship programme that supports young people from low-income and vulnerable backgrounds in the Alto Mayo region to continue their education, particularly in audiovisual careers, with support for education and food. It also runs a digital audiovisual platform and a local community television channel, a dental health project for schoolgirls, and fundraising sporting and cultural events such as Morro Xtrem and the Carrera de las Narices. Funds come from member contributions, donations, a solidarity shop and a café, and it works with partner institutions and local municipalities.
