The Sociedad de Cirujanos Generales del Perú (SCGP) is a non-profit scientific society founded in 1983 to standardise surgical practice, promote general surgery as a specialty, and improve the transmission of advanced surgical knowledge to residents and young surgeons. Its activities include monthly scientific sessions, research competitions with prizes, publication of the journal Cirujano and newsletters, and agreements with the Peruvian Trauma Committee of the American College of Surgeons. It is based in Lima, Peru.
