Solidair met Guatemala is a Belgian solidarity group, based in Aalst, that supports the Guatemalan people's struggle for dignity, freedom and livelihood. It focuses on marginalised groups, including Maya and other indigenous communities, landless farmers, human rights defenders and women's organisations. Its work combines information bulletins, complaints and political lobbying towards Belgian, European and Guatemalan authorities, and it promotes small community projects in Guatemala as a way to stay connected to grassroots needs. It is part of the EU-LAT Network and works with other European solidarity networks.
