Thessaloniki Tango Party
Thessaloniki, Greece
About
Founded in 2019, Thessaloniki Tango Party is a non-profit association based in Thessaloniki, Greece working on arts & culture, children & youth.
Thessaloniki Tango Party is an annual, philanthropic international dance festival held in Thessaloniki, Greece, organised by a nonprofit association. The six-day event, held in late August, brings together tango, salsa, bachata, kizomba and Greek folk dance workshops, milongas and performances at several city venues. Attendance at open-air events is free, and participants in the dance programme make a symbolic donation to support the SYZOI children's charity. The festival states that it charges no tickets and takes no profit, and it presents itself as a cultural and tourism event that promotes Thessaloniki. It began as a gathering for tango lovers in 2019 and has since grown into a multi-venue festival with international participants and institutional patronage from several embassies and public bodies.
