Udruga Radost Ploče is a non-governmental, non-political, non-profit humanitarian organisation founded in 2000 by parents of children with developmental difficulties and persons with intellectual disabilities. It works to rehabilitate, improve quality of life and protect the rights of children with developmental difficulties and people with intellectual disabilities. The association is registered as a social service provider with the Ministry of Labour and Pension System and provides services such as personal assistance, day care, in-school assistants, psychosocial support, and family support programmes. Its activities are based in the city of Ploče and cover the Dubrovnik-Neretva and Split-Dalmatia counties. It also works to raise public awareness of the needs and abilities of people with intellectual disabilities and to promote inclusion in community life. Funding comes from local and regional government, national ministries, the EU, the national civil society foundation, corporate donors and individual supporters.
