Snoopy is a non-profit animal protection association based in Pula, Croatia, founded in early 2002. It operates in Pula and the surrounding area. The association takes in abandoned, lost and injured animals, mainly dogs, and provides food, veterinary care and socialisation at its shelter, which is located at the Austro-Hungarian Pomer fortress near the Kaštijun waste landfill. Volunteers also respond to reports and carry out urgent field interventions. Snoopy finds new homes for animals through an adoption process that includes an adoption contract requiring responsible ownership and castration, followed by ongoing contact after adoption. Beyond adoption, it promotes responsible pet ownership, castration to prevent unwanted litters, and education on animal rights and needs. The association reports unlawful treatment of animals to the authorities. It is funded through voluntary donations from citizens and occasional grants from public calls for proposals. Donations are accepted by bank transfer and via PayPal, and volunteers are welcome.
