About

WWF-België is a non-governmental organisation based in Brussel, Belgium working on nature & wildlife conservation, environment & climate, water & sanitation.

WWF-België is the Belgian branch of the WWF global conservation network, working to halt the degradation of nature and build a future in which people live in harmony with nature. It runs and supports conservation projects in Belgium and abroad, including in Central Africa, the Amazon, Southeast Asia and Europe. Its work covers wildlife and species protection (including jaguars, tigers, elephants, otters, bears and wolves), forests, oceans, freshwater, climate, and sustainable food systems. It advocates for stronger nature and climate legislation at Belgian, European and international level, and works with governments, businesses, financial institutions and local communities. Projects in Ecuador and Bolivia focus on jaguar protection with local communities. The organisation is funded largely by individual donors, including monthly donors, legacies, and symbolic animal adoptions, and reports that in 2024 about 81.86% of its resources went directly to nature conservation. It is a nationally registered good cause and offers tax certificates for donations of at least 40 euro per year.
