About

WWF-België is a non-governmental organisation based in Brussel, Belgium working on nature & wildlife conservation, environment & climate, water & sanitation.

WWF-België is the Belgian national organisation of the WWF network, a non-profit nature conservation organisation. It works to halt the loss of biodiversity and reduce the impact of human activity on nature and climate, through projects in Belgium and in regions of Africa, South America, Asia and Europe. Its activities include protecting threatened species such as the jaguar, tiger, lion, elephant, otter and dolphin, promoting sustainable food systems and fisheries, campaigning for stronger nature and climate policy, and running public awareness and consumer programmes. It funds its work mainly through donations from individual supporters, including monthly giving and fundraising carried out by its ambassadors, and reports that in 2024 about 82% of its resources went directly to nature conservation. The organisation is a registered good cause in Belgium and issues tax certificates to donors, and it is a member of the Vereniging voor Ethiek in de Fondsenwerving.
