The project is estimated to save New York homes and businesses $17.3 billion over 30 years through wholesale electricity costs, generate $1.4 billion in funding for 73 municipalities and 59 school districts, create over 1,400 jobs with union labor commitments, and reduce carbon emissions by 3.9 million metric tons annually upon full operation.
