Fédération EAF (Électricité Autonome Française) is the national federation of independent hydroelectric electricity producers in France. Founded in 1935, it represents and advises autonomous hydroelectric producers, primarily focused on small hydropower plants (petite hydroélectricité). The federation groups approximately half of independent hydroelectric producers, with around 500 MW of installed capacity generating 7 TWh annually. Members include exploitants (operators), project developers, equipment manufacturers, engineering firms, and industry sympathizers. The federation advocates for members' interests before national and European institutions, participates in legislative processes, and provides technical, administrative, and legal support. It is a founding member of EREF (European Renewable Energy Federation) and works to promote local renewable energy development, particularly small-scale hydropower, across France.
