About

HyIron is a limited company headquartered in Arandis, Namibia specializing in Hydrogen, Solar, Wind.

HyIron is a company that produces green iron by reducing iron ore with green hydrogen in an airtight rotary kiln, replacing fossil carbon reduction agents such as coking coal. The process produces direct reduced iron (DRI) and hot or cold briquetted iron with zero direct emissions and is designed to use water-efficiently by recycling the process water. HyIron was established through a partnership of Namibian and German companies active in renewable energy and engineering. Its main projects are the Oshivela project in Namibia, planned as the first industrial-scale application of the technology, and the GEiSt pilot plant in Lingen, Germany.
